The Midwest Staffing Conference has become one of the most significant annual conferences for staffing companies in the Midwest.  Organized by the Illinois Search & Staffing Association (ISSA) in conjunction with the Wisconsin Association of Staffing Services (WASS) the event promises to dazzle even the most discerning of staffing professionals. The event will take place at the centrally located Holiday Inn in Rolling Meadows, IL on Thursday, April 6, 2017. As a bonus a special optional half day is available on April 7.

So, what makes this conference different?  Why does registration fill up quickly and why are vendor sponsors on a waiting list every year?  First, the conference consistently features a strong list of “all-star” speakers broadly spaced to appeal to a variety of interests.  This conference is not a “temp conference” or a “perm conference”.  Nor does it cater to seasoned professionals only.  There are also priceless sessions for young and emerging professionals new to the industry.  With its low registration cost and it’s “something for everyone approach”, the Midwest Staffing Conference spells VALUE for all staffing firms.

“WASS is thrilled to continue its partnership with ISSA and each year, bringing Wisconsin staffing firms national renounced speakers close to home,” says Lori Malett, President of the Wisconsin Association of Staffing Services

“Just when you think it could not get any better the Midwest Staffing Conference line-up unveils a new surprise each year.  This year we are so happy to have added on a 2nd day option to bring even more value to attendees,” comments Diana Smith, President of the Illinois Search & Staffing Association.  Diana continues, “Equally exciting are the Young and Emerging Professionals Tracks which are in their second year.”

Your day starts with registration, continental breakfast and open vendor partner exhibits.

The conference will kick off with a keynote from Derek DePrey, popular personal development and motivational speaker.  Derek will talk about Motivation and Top Performance. The real-world information provided at this keynote, can be taken home and immediately applied to your organization and to life!

If you get the munchies in between presentations, scrumptious refreshments are available at a nearby buffet table.  Visit vendor partners and find out about relevant industry products and pick up some free give-a-ways.

Next, Susan Deitrich, Chairman from the American Staffing Association (ASA) will present an industry update.  Learning about staffing industry trends and events that impact staffing organizations is a big part of the conference.  Knowledge is power.

After the industry update it’s time for lunchtime table topics and a steaming hot buffet lunch. Speakers and vendor partners share their knowledge in a relaxed setting as they moderate powerful discussions among table participants.

Lunch is a fantastic opportunity to network with old friends and new acquaintances.  Ample time is provided to meet new people and renew friendships.

After lunch vendor partner exhibits are open and there is more time for networking.  Some of the top staffing solution providers will be on hand at the conference to answer questions and tell you about their products.  Check out the exclusive list of popular vendor sponsors at issaworks.com.  This year a photographer will be on hand throughout the day to take your profile picture.  Come on, you know it’s time to get a new one!

While most conferences are winding down in the afternoon, more fun is just beginning at the Midwest Staffing Conference with concurrent workshops. Options include a Leadership/Sales Track by top industry consultant, Tom Kosnik; a Recruiting Trackstarring leading industry speaker, Danny Cahill; and an Emerging Professionals Track by social media experts Natalie Chrapla and Amy Wunderlich.

After the first concurrent workshop session there are more refreshments, opportunities to network and vendor partner exhibits.

The second group of concurrent workshops features a Legal Brief – Employment Law Update by Jill O’Brien, one of the Top 50 Woman Attorneys in Illinois; Recruiting Track, Best Practices of Top Producers by Danny Cahill; and an Emerging Professionals Panel of Professionals, “3 Under 35” with panelists Bryan Tweed, Shannon Deamer, and John Jelinek.  Moderators are Bridgette Barry and Michelle White.

At the conclusion of the conference, there is a two hour networking and cocktail reception complete with appetizers and a vendor partner raffle featuring some fantastic prizes.  What a terrific way to wind down after a perfect day!

On Friday, April 7, join Danny Cahill for an optional 2nd day.  After breakfast and networking, Danny will hold a session in the morning.  The topic will be “Managing a Search Firm in the Millennial Age!”
